Goal

Football Image

The primary goal is to score by getting the ball into the opponent’s net. Players use their feet, head, or body to control and pass the ball. Only the goalkeeper can use their hands, but only inside the penalty area. The team with more goals at the end of 90 minutes wins the match. If the game is tied, extra time or a penalty shootout may decide the winner (in knockout matches).

Basic Rules

A match lasts 90 minutes (two halves of 45 minutes with a 15-minute break). The ball is in play unless it crosses the sidelines or goal line. Players cannot touch the ball with their hands, except for the goalkeeper. Offside Rule – A player is offside if they receive the ball ahead of the last defender when the pass is made. Fouls & Free Kicks – Physical contact like tripping, pushing, or handball results in free kicks or penalties. Yellow & Red Cards – A yellow card is a warning; two yellows or a direct red card results in a player being sent off.
